Project Description:

Tesla Inc. had a construction project to relocate their Service Center and Showroom from Waipahu to Kaka’ako in Honolulu.  Part of the scope of the project was upgrade the electrical infrastructure in the existing building in Kaka’ako to support Tesla’s requirements.  Kalvio was subcontracted to perform the electrical build out for the project.

Kalvio provided electrical contracting services to upgrade the existing electrical infrastructure such as panelboards, transformers, and feeders.  The scope of work also included new lighting and power circuits to the 30,000 square foot building along with installation of a new Simplex fire alarm system.

Kalvio performed electrical engineering technical support services to recommend alternatives during construction when the construction plans could not be followed.  Kalvio also provided value engineering services to reduce costs for change orders.

Kalvio performed construction management services for this project.  This required managing workforce resources based on the general contractor’s schedule and providing the general contractor with detailed schedule updates for the electrical work.
